Fezzano

An ancient sea village

Fezzano, a village in Porto Venere, is located on a small bay on the western side of the gulf, at the foot of Monte Castellana. The village is said to have Roman roots, but has not been able to preserve any traces or its origins.
Worth a visit is the church of San Giovanni Battista, or Saint John the Baptist, built in the first half of 1700, near a secondary residence of the Cattaneo family. The church houses valuable works of art, such as a wooden sculpture made by Maragliano and a famous organ.
